Purpose

The company’s Responsible Gambling Policy sets out its commitment to minimizing the negative effects of problem gambling and to promote responsible gambling practices.

The company provides online players with a wide range of games and entertainment. We also take responsibility for our product line-up. The aim of the company is to provide a safe, enjoyable experience for its players.

We aim to ensure that our players engage with our products and services within their respective financial means and receive an engaging, quality service. Integrity, fairness, and reliability are the guiding principles for the company. Players that show signs of suffering from problem gambling, particularly in those cases of immoderate playing, are of concern to the company, and it wants to be able to identify such players and take appropriate action. A careful balance has to be reached between protecting those players who might be at risk while at the same time respecting the rights of those who take part in games of chance to a reasonable extent and treat it as a form of entertainment.

Responsible Gaming at the company is based on three fundamental principles: security of the player, security of the game, and protection against problem gambling. This is its guiding ethos and approach to responsible gaming.

Player Security & Training

The company takes responsibility for the security of its players. Protection of the players is based on preventing underage players from participating in games and the protection of privacy, which involves responsible processing of personal data and payments. Fairness and the random nature of the products offered will be monitored. Marketing communications are also created with player protection and fairness in mind. We aim to follow a specific routine when confronting a problem gambler or when a player approaches said employees in the fear of them developing a gambling problem.

Protection Against Problem Gambling: Research – Prevention – Intervention

The majority of gamblers play in moderation for entertainment. Certain habits and behavior patterns that are considered to be normal (e.g., shopping or eating for comfort) are not a cause for concern but can develop into addiction for some people and cause them problems. In the same way, gambling in general can lead to problems for a small percentage of players.

Where a player displays signs of problem gambling, he/she may be prohibited from playing certain products or even altogether. Furthermore, should a player show signs of problem gambling, they will be provided with contacts of organizations where they can receive professional advice and support.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information and Traffic Analysis

KaloKalo.io strives to make its website as user-friendly as possible and easy to find on the internet. The company collects data on how you use the site, which does not identify you personally. When you interact with our platform, our servers keep an activity log unique to you that collects certain administrative and traffic information including but not limited to: source IP address, time of access, date of access, web page(s) visited, language use, software crash reports, and type of browser used. This information is essential for the provision and quality of our services.

Protection of Minors

The company does not allow minors (persons under the age of 18 or whatever the minimum age to gamble is within the player's jurisdiction of residence) to play on its platform. We will verify who you are as part of or following your registration on our site.

Furthermore, we recommend that players install filter software in order to restrict access to Internet resources inappropriate for children and teenagers.

Detection and Action

KaloKalo.io offers a variety of games through its third-party suppliers which form the entertainment for the majority of players. At the same time, we take responsibility for our players by providing support and tools for the maintenance of a secure and entertaining environment, taking into account the associated risks.

We will also implement certain analytical tools which will be of help with KYC verification, PEP section tools, and built-in analytics such that warnings can be given out to players and we will have an overall sight of monitoring players.

Players who have difficulty in assessing risks, recognizing their own limits, or those who suffer from problem gambling are potentially not able to enjoy the product line-up responsibly and do not perceive it as a form of entertainment. We provide such players with tools (e.g., deposit or betting limits) and enhanced assistance (e.g., blocking access) for their own protection.

We may ask players to take part in problem gambling assessments during the course of the lifetime of their account, as part of our aim to protect our players.

Problem Gambling

Most people play for pleasure and enjoy moderate participation in games within their financial capacity. However, for a small percentage of people, gambling is not a form of entertainment, and this is a challenge that must be considered seriously.

Problematic gambling behavior is considered to be that which interferes with regular modes of life, work, financial position, or health of a person or his family. Prolonged participation in gambling is counterproductive and can have negative and harmful consequences.

Players who experience at least five of the following symptoms are more likely to be suffering from problem gambling:

  1. The player is fully immersed in gambling and appears to think of nothing else.
  2. Bet stakes increase, particularly if on a losing streak.
  3. Attempts to quit or control gambling appear to be unsuccessful.
  4. Shows signs of anxiety, irritation, and disappointment when limiting gambling.
  5. The player treats gambling as a means of escape from problems or life issues. Regularly chases losses.
  6. Lies about his/her playing behavior.
  7. Commits illegal acts in pursuit of continuing gambling activity.
  8. Arguments or strained or broken relationships with family and colleagues.
  9. Borrows funds to participate in gambling.

Players are encouraged to regularly go through the above list as a self-checking mechanism.

Suggestions for Responsible Gambling

Players are encouraged to gamble only within their means, not treat gambling as a way to make money, or as a distraction from everyday problems.

Players are advised to follow these simple tips:

  • Don’t think of gambling as a way to make money. Think of gambling as an entertainment expense.
  • Take regular breaks. Set a time limit and when the time is up, quit. We have activity/session timers on our site which inform you how long you have been on the site, from your log-in.
  • Only gamble with money you can afford to lose, not money you have set aside for other expenditures.
  • Set a money limit in advance and stick with it; when it’s gone, stop.
  • Once setting a maximum limit, do not further increase it.
  • Never chase your losses.
  • Do not play under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Don’t gamble when you are depressed or upset; decision-making can be more difficult when you are stressed or emotionally upset.

Player Protection Facilities: Self-Exclusion, Betting Limits, Time-Outs, and Reality Checks

We provide facilities to set Self-Exclusion, Betting Limits, Time-Outs, and Reality Checks to assist our players with managing their gambling.

Self-Exclusion can be applied for such definite periods at the player’s discretion: 1 (one) day, 5 (five) days, 1 (one) month, 6 (six) months, 1 (one) year, or indefinitely.

Players may set a limit on their account as to how much money can be deposited and/or wagered over a daily, weekly, or monthly period. In order to do this, please email SUPPORT@KALOKALO.IO.

Players may elect a temporary block of their account by choosing a Time-Out for 24 hours, one week, or one month.

The Reality Check facility prompts the player when an amount of time as selected by the player (10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, and 8 hours) would have been spent on the virtual slots section of the website. If you wish to make use of any of these facilities, you must contact Customer Support.

Should players wish to permanently close their account due to problem gambling, they should contact Customer Support as soon as possible. Once this is done, players will not be able to re-open their account under any circumstances. If you think you may have a gambling problem, we encourage you to make use of the foregoing facilities and to seek help. Please visit www.begambleaware.org.
